Architects, attorneys and financial advisors all gathered at the Madison County Court House on Monday evening along with the Quorum Court in a special called meeting to address shortcomings in the current jail system in the county.

PGAV architects specializing for the past 30 years in criminal justice programs gave powerpoint presentations highlighting some of their most recent construction projects in Arkansas and neighboring states.

The estimate on a 20, 000 square foot jail to be built on land currently owned by the county was around $ 4. 9 million. The figure included inflation and other costs.

The court heard different funding options and is expected to make a decision at next Monday evening's regular Quorum Court meeting.
