Horse trail reopens The horse trails at Pea Ridge National Military Park reopened Oct. 11. The popular trails, which have been closed since early summer, offer horseback riders a unique and safe way to see the park and get some exercise. Work continues on improving the trails and the park staff ask that riders report any downed trees or excessively muddy areas to staff at the Visitor Center. One of the improvements that riders will see right away is the newly paved road to the trailhead and new hitching post.

The Elkhorn Tavern and area north of the tavern remain off limits to horses due to resource damage.

Pea Ridge National Military Par is located 10 miles north of Rogers on US Highway 62. Admission is $ 3 per person or $ 5 per vehicle. Fall Eagle Watch Oct. 17-19 The 16 th annual Eagle Watch on Beaver Lake will be Oct. 17-19 at Starkey Park in Eureka Springs. Event-goers can enjoy spectacular fall foliage as experienced guides help spot eagles and describe their features and habits.
