Bates

Fayetteville

Clara Irene Mouser, 85, of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully the morning of Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, at her son's home in Fayetteville after a brief battle with cancer. She was born Oct. 25, 1922, in the Whitener community to Noble Elmer and Iola Mae Calico Todd. She was the widow of Vance Edward Mouser. Clara enjoyed gardening, was an avid walker and never had an unkind word for anyone. She was fiercely independent. She is survived by a son, Randall, and daughter-inlaw, Bev, of Fayetteville; two grandsons, Wes and Matt of Fayetteville; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Special thanks to Dr. Hamilton Hart and associates and to Circle of Life Hospice of Springdale and their wonderful, caring and attentive staff. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Moore's Chapel. Prairie Grove

Mike Allen "Jelly Belly "Hoelzel, 56, of Prairie Grove died Monday, Sept. 1, 2008. He was born March 3, 1952, in Ulysses, Kan., to Karl and Lena Scroggins Hoelzel. He was a truck driver. Sur vivors include his wife, Rhonda Hoelzel; three daughters, Amy Robbins and Katrina Tuell, both of Prairie Grove, and Chasity Little of Mountainburg; two sons, Clint Langway of Booneville and Chris Langway of Portland, Ore.; two brothers, Wayne Hoelzel and Max Davis; two sisters, Rhonda Shirley and Regina Morton; and 21 grandchildren. Springdale

Roy Deaton, 49, of Springdale died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, at the Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. Arrangements will be announced by Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville.

Frances Jewell Dewberry, 85, of Springdale died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008. She was born May 22, 1923, in Salus to James Albert and Aurora Carroll Warren. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Joseph Dewberry, and a daughter. Survivors include two sons, Bill Dewberry of Springdale and Ernest Wayne Dewberry of Burlington, N. C.; a daughter, Linda Gail Taylor of Elm Springs; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale. William R. Edwards, 65, of Springdale died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008. He was born Sept. 19, 1942, in Great Bend, Kan., to William and Beatrice Odem Edwards. He was a truck driver and a U. S. Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Edwards; three sons, James Edwards of Lowell, Randy Edwards of Springdale and Jeremy Edwards of Fayetteville; a daughter, Shelly James of Fayetteville; and two grandchildren. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Full Gospel Harbor Church in Springdale with the Rev. Johnny Case officiating. Dr. Stevan Michael Van Ore, 64, of Springdale died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008, at his home. He was born Oct. 4, 1943, in Seneca Falls, N. Y., to Lawrence William and Josephine Caparelli Van Ore. He was a United States Navy veteran serving during Vietnam. He graduated from Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla. He then graduated with his medical degree from the University of Miami. He practiced in Maitland, Fla., until 1992. He moved to Cherokee Village in January 1993 and practiced there until 1994. In 1994, he moved to Harrison where he practiced until 2005. He then moved to Springdale and continued his practice there until his death.

He is survived by his wife Mary Ann Banks-Van Ore, whom he married on June 19, 1965. Dr. Van Ore is also survived by the following: a son, Stevan Michael Van Ore Jr. of Fayetteville; two daughters, Lisa Marie Van Ore-Crowe of Maumelle and Anna Theresa Van Ore-Kahn and husband Shaun Jonathan Kahn of Harrison; and a brother, Lawrence Van Ore of Winter Springs, Fla. Dr. Van Ore's four grandchildren are Ivy Elizabeth Crowe, Courtney Michelle Crowe, Evan Nicole Kahn and Stephen Anthony Kahn.

Rosary will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springdale with the Rev. John K. Antony officiating. Burial will be in Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until rosary time. Memorials can be made to American Cancer Society, 3291 S. West Fork

Effie Bates, 81, of West Fork died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008. She was born March 15, 1927, in Lauderdale County, Ala., to James Wesley Smith and Beddie Alice Scott Sm ith. Sh e was retired from West Fork Public Schools, a member of New Life Tabernacle Church and a homemaker. She spent 15 years working for Meals on Wheels.

Survivors include seven sons, William and Jeff Bates, both of West Fork, Kenneth Bates of Fayetteville, Maynard Bates of Lompoc, Calif., Donnie Bates of Purdy, Mo., Ronald Bates of Farmington and Glen Bates of The Colony, Texas; four daughters, Margaret Fancher of Berryville, Mildred Peel of Farmington, Carolyn Boone of West Fork and Christine Neuendorf of Broken Arrow, Okla.; two sisters, Pauline Bates of Florence, Ala., and Virginia Smith of South Bend, Ind.; 32 grandchildren; 37 greatgrandchildren; and 22 greatgreat-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at New Life Tabernacle with the Rev. John Martin officiating. Burial will be in Campbell Cemetery in West Fork.

Siloam Springs

Donald Ray Beckman, 55, of Siloam Springs died Monday, Sept. 1, 2008.

He was born Sept. 15, 1952, in Gothenberg, Neb., to Reinhard Beckman and Darline Juilfs Beckman. He was a licensed professional counselor for Ozark Guidance since 2002, where he worked with children and adolescents and was clinical supervisor for school-based therapists. He previously held positions as a therapist at the Charter Behavioral Health Services in Fayetteville, Integris Mental Health in Oklahoma City and the Chisholm Trail Counseling Services in El Reno, Okla. He attended First Presbyterian Church in Rogers, where he sang in the choir and participated in hand bells. Survivors include his wife, Linda Wilds Beckman; his father, the Rev. Reinhard Beckman of Syracuse, Neb.; a brother, the Rev. Ron Beckman of Westminster, Colo.; three step-daughters, Deanna Wilds of Gentry, Kimberly Wilds of Norman, Okla., and Davilyn Valdez of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; and eight grandchildren. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church in Rogers with the Revs. Jeff Parker and Ron Beckman officiating. Burial will be in Syracuse, Neb. Debbie Childers, 52, of Rogers died Monday, Sept. 1, 2008. She was born Sept. 14, 1955, to Ed and Georgia Brown Logsdon. Survivors include her parents, Ed and Georgia Logsdon of Pineville, Mo.; a daughter, Samantha Childers of Rogers; a son, Joseph Taylor of Indiana; and a sister, Tamie Adams of Cave Springs. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elm Springs Cemetery.
