The Arkansas Air Museum will hold its first Fall Kite Festival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 18. The festival will take place in a 16-acre field across from 2536 N. McConnell Ave. near the Washington County Fairgrounds in Fayetteville.

Events will include a fun fly, a kids fly and kite making for kids. The event is geared toward children and their families to encourage and teach them about kiting.

Competition kite fliers will participate locally and from six states. Future kite festivals are planned for spring and fall 2009.
