Fayetteville to give away mulch while supplies last
Posted on Sunday, October 5, 2008
Fayetteville's Solid Waste and Recycling Division is giving away mulch while supplies last. The excess mulch resulted from tropical storm Ike.
The mulch will be given away during normal operating hours at the city's compost facility, 1708 S. Armstrong Ave. Facility hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday and 8 a.m. to noon the first Saturday of each month.
Mulch is made from ground-up trees and is great for weed suppression and moisture retention around plants. The mulch is made from trees collected through the city's yard waste program and trees dropped off at the composting site.
