Prairie Grove 32 Lavaca 6 The Prairie Grove Junior Tigers rolled up 275 rushing yards on their way to a dominating 32-6 win over Lavaca in both teams' season opener Thursday night at Prairie Grove.
The Junior Tigers got rushing touchdowns from Garrett Smith (65 yards ), Daniel Schrock (11 yards ), and two scores from Weston Bartholomew (34, 46 yards ).
The Prairie Grove junior high team will return to action next Thursday when it hosts Cassville, Mo. Elkins 48 Pea Ridge 6 The Elkins Junior Elks took a 40-0 lead and never looked back in their 48-6 rout of Pea Ridge Thursday night at Elkins.
Aaron England got the ball rolling with a 30-yard scoring run. He would later add a 45-yard punt return.
Grant Smith (16 yards ) and Chad Curry (50 yards ) also had touchdown runs. Curry also scored two 2-point conversions.
Spencer Jones tallied three 2-point conversions, to go along with his 48-yard touchdown catch from MacKenzie Lichner. Mitchell Clark wrapped up the scoring in the fourth quarter when he hooked up with Colby Elkins for an 18-yard TD.
Elkins returns to the field Tuesday night at 7: 30 when it hosts Decatur.
