Washington County prosecutors will not prosecute felony charges against a Springdale man accused of raping a 12-year-old girl.

Douglas G. Solorzano, 37, was accused on Jan. 3 of raping the girl and having her look at pornographic images on the computer with him. He was arrested by Springdale police March 27 after the accuser reported the incident.

Solorzano told police that he raped the girl several times over the course of five to six months, according to the police report. His confession came after he was read his Miranda rights, the report stated.

The accuser now claims that her allegations are untrue and there is no physical evidence in this case, said Matt Durrett, 4 th Judicial District chief deputy prosecutor. Corroborating evidence is required for a conviction, he said.
