Deputies seize another meth lab

Washington County sheriff ’s deputies seized their second methamphetamine lab of the week on Tuesday.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office, in cooperation with the 4 th Judicial District Drug Task Force, seized the lab at 180 W. Bowen Blvd. in Goshen. Paul Edward Moore, 36, and Stephanie Slater, 28, both of Goshen were arrested on felony charges involving possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to manufacture (methamphetamine ) and exposing a child to chemicals or methamphetamine. The Arkansas Department of Human Services took two children into custody.

Slater and Moore were being held in the Washington County Detention Center on Wednesday evening, but a bond amount had not been posted. They are expected to make their first appearance in the Washington County Circuit Court on Friday.

The first meth lab bust of the week by the task force was in Prairie Grove at the home of Michael Brockman. Five people were arrested Tuesday in that incident.

Washington County deputies and task force members also seized a meth lab from a residence in Springdale on Aug. 21.

Franklin N. Morris, 42, and Shannon M. Stone, 35, both of 18207 Ponderosa Drive, face felony charges involving possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to manufacture (methamphetamine ), possession of drug paraphernalia and exposing a child to chemical substances or methamphetamine.

According to a preliminary arrest report, a juvenile victim reported finding a meth lab in her home to a teacher.

The 4 th Judicial District Drug Task Force is made up of investigators from the police departments of Fayetteville, Springdale, the University of Arkansas, Prairie Grove, West Fork, Johnson, Lincoln, Greenland, Farmington, Elm Springs and Elkins, as well as the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
