Air Force Maj. Destry R. Hill has arrived for duty at Yokota Air Base, Tokyo, Japan.
Hill, a command post chief, is assigned to the 374 th Airlift Wing. The major has served in the military for 13 years.
He is the son of Jack R. and Beverly R. Hill of Lockhart, Texas.
His wife, Cameron, is the daughter of Ann Anderson of West Fork.
In 1990, Hill graduated from Lockhart High School, and received a bachelor’s degree in 1995 from the University of Arkansas. He earned his master’s degree in 2008 from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University at Daytona, Fla.
Army Pvt. Dylan S. Carpenter, Army Pvt. Joshua K. McManus and Army National Guard Pvt. Michael K. Wells have graduated from basic combat training at Fort Sill in Lawton, Okla.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldiers studied the Army mission and received instruction and training exercises in drill and ceremonies, Army history, core values and traditions, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, rifle marksmanship, weapons use, map reading and land navigation, foot marches, armed and unarmed combat, and field maneuvers and tactics.
Carpenter is the son of Scott Carpenter of West Fork and Donna Stewart of Rogers.
McManus is the son of Richard McManus of Tampa, Fla., and Sherry McManus of Fayetteville. He is a 2007 graduate of Chamberlain High School in Tampa, Fla.
Wells is the son of Keith and Debra Wells of Fayetteville.
