TENNIS Pinnacle Adult Doubles Classic Pinnacle Country Club in Rogers will host its final tournament of the year October 17-19. The Nestle Waters Adult Doubles Classic will include Men’s and Women’s Doubles for levels 2. 5 and up as well as Mixed Doubles for 5. 0 thru 9. 0 levels. The tournament will have a round robin format. The entry fee is $ 50 per team and all participants will receive a T-shirt and refreshments throughout the weekend. Entrants may play in two events. FCA Tie Breaker Shootout A tennis event to benefit the Fellowship of Christian Athletes will be held Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Kingsdale Tennis Center in Bella Vista. Special guests for the day include former Arkansas Razorbacks football greats Bill Burnett and Ken Hatfield. Money raised will go directly to support FCA Huddles at schools across northwest Arkansas. The FCA Tie Breaker Shootout will begin at 11 a. m. with the shootout for adults and a tennis clinic for juniors. Adults of all levels are invited to find a partner and participate. Need a partner ? Bella Vista tennis professional Paul Pautsch and his staff will help find one for you. Juniors will enjoy a fast-moving clinic with local pros for 45 minutes of fun /. Teams will compete with all levels in a simple but fun tie breaker format. Teams are guaranteed at least three matches. Cost to participate is a $ 100 minimum donation made to FCA per person, or a $ 25 minimum donation made to FCA for the junior clinic. Deadline to register is Oct. 9. VOLLEYBALL Instructional class registration Rogers Community-School Recreation Association registration for the 2008 Youth Volleyball Instructional Class will be taken until Oct. 24 at the Rogers Activity Center. Boys and girls in grades four (4 ) through seven (7 ) are eligible to participate. Cost for registration is $ 40 and includes a T-shirt. Each participant must have a current RAC membership ($ 20 ). BASKETBALL Upward Basketball / Cheerleading registration Rogers First Baptist Church, Lowell First Baptist Church and Rogers First Church of the Nazarene are partnering this year to offer Upward Basketball / Cheerleading for boys and girls in grades K-6. Early registration runs through Oct. 18 and the cost for basketball and cheerleading is $ 65 per child. After Oct. 18 the cost is $ 70, and the deadline for registration Oct. 28. Youth basketball registration Registration for the Rogers Community-School Recreation Association youth basketball program will be taken until Nov. 16 at the Rogers Activity Center. BASEBALL Team looking for players NWA Thunder, a new 9- & -Under competitive team, is looking for two players who want to play at a higher level of baseball. We will be playing in Bixby, Okla., on October 18 and plan on playing one more tournament this fall. The team is looking for players who have pitching experience and / or players who have great arms and speed. Previous competitive ball experience a plus, but not necessary.
