BENTONVILLE — A Rogers woman accused of shooting her husband has been released from a Fayetteville psychiatric facility and is now living with her daughter.

Myrtle Walter, 75, was arrested Oct. 4 after admitting to police that she shot and killed her husband, Paul, at their residence at 1105 S. 12 th St.

Myrtle Walter told police she shot and killed her 74-year-old husband while he was sleeping, according to court documents. During the interview, Walter said she could no longer take being mentally abused, court documents states.

Police found a 357-caliber revolver at the scene. Paul Walter was shot three times. One bullet grazed his face, and the other two were in his shoulder and neck region.

After her arrest, W. H. Taylor, Walter’s attorney, filed a motion requesting that his client be sent to the Generations psychiatric facility in Fayetteville.

Last week, Circuit Judge David Clinger signed an order allowing Walter to be released from the facility and to live with her daughter in Rogers.

Walter was released from the facility and is free on $ 250, 000 bond.

Her arraignment is scheduled for 8: 30 a. m. Nov. 24.
