ROGERS — Proceeds from the third annual Ryan Murphy Casino Night and Silent Auction will benefit the Cancer Support Home of Benton County. Murphy, a 1995 graduate of Rogers High School, died in 2004 after a two-year battle with colon cancer.

Brad Bridgers, a longtime friend of Murphy’s, has been instrumental in organizing fundraisers to help fight colon cancer. Eager to honor his friend’s memory in the most meaningful way, Bridgers is hopeful that more money than ever will be raised for the fight against colon cancer.

“ From the past fundraising events, ” Bridgers said, “ we have been able to donate just over $ 20, 000 to the Cancer Support Home, where the funds are used to help cancer patients in Benton County by providing colon-cancer awareness, screenings and resources. ”

The Casino Night will be from 7 p. m. to 11 p. m. Saturday at the Elks Lodge in Rogers. A Web site has been developed, and forms can be printed and donations made there. The Web site is www. ryanmurphycancerfund. com.

Dinner will be supplied by Zaxby’s. Members of this year’s Leadership Benton County class will work as dealers during the evening. Along with a Texas Hold’em Tournament, table games will include craps, roulette and blackjack.

Silent-auction items are varied and include a round of golf for four at Shadow Valley, a three-piece candle set, an Isabella Adams handbag and a week’s stay in a Florida condo. Many other items will be included in the auction, with all proceeds donated to the Ryan Murphy Cancer Fund.
