Vandal ‘cannonballs’ into fountain: The Confederate statue in Bentonville Square was damaged again, this time by a juvenile who accidentally broke off one of the granite cannonballs and left it lying on the bottom of the fountain Saturday night, according to police reports. A cannonball was stolen in February 2007 and the base of the 100-year-old statue was damaged in July of this year. DAVID FRANK DEMPSEY / Benton County Daily Record
