TENNIS Trifecta Tennis Tournament Bella Vista Tennis Association will be hosting the Trifecta Tennis Tournament on Sept. 5-7 at the Kingsdale Tennis Center. This tournament will offer Men’s and Women’s Doubles, Mixed Doubles and a special Century Doubles tournament where the ages of the partners total 100 or more. The tournament will include all NTRP levels. Entry forms are at the tennis shop or on the BVTA Web site at www. nwabvta. com. Deadline to enter is September 2. For more information call (479 ) 855-8®. SOFTBALL Rogers High School tryouts Rogers High School will host softball tryouts on Aug. 25, 27 and 28 from 4-6: 30 p. m. at Northwest Park. NWA Heat expanding for fall The NWA Heat is currently looking for competitive softball players to complete their roster. They are expanding to form a 12 U and 14 U team for the fall of 2008. All girls with birthdays in 1994, 1995, and 1996 may tryout. We are looking for players that will be committed to the team and practices. The NWA Heat is coached by a Northern California championship coach. The team has a great atmosphere and is family oriented. We play two weekends per month in September and October and then start back up in March through July. We will consider all positions. BOWLING Thursday Morning Mixed Bowling League A mixed bowling league with play dates each Thursday morning is being organized for the 2008-09 season. Bowling takes place at the Rogers Bowling Center at 9: 30 a. m. starting the week of Sept. 7. Openings are available for men, women or couples. This handicap league is not sanctioned by the ABC and is designed for recreation, sociability and fun for adults over the age of 50. Bowlers of all skill levels are invited to attend. Friday Bella Vista Senior league The Friday Bella Vista Senior bowling league starts Sept. 19 at 9: 30 a. m. at the Rogers Bowling Center. This is a nonsanctioned fun league. GOLF Patriot Golf Day in Bella Vista Bella Vista golfers can participate in Patriot Golf Day 2008 from Aug. 29 through Sept. 1. All proceeds from the program will go to the Folds of Honor Foundation, which is designed to provide educational scholarships for the children and spouses of service members who are either killed or disabled while serving in the military. Golfers in Bella Vista, and around the country, will have the opportunity to donate $ 1 or more to the cause. Each Golf Shop in Bella Vista will provide a donation box for golfers to give back to those who have sacrificed everything. Each 18-hole facility also will offer a closest-to-the-pin contest for $ 2 per person. All proceeds from the contest will go to the Folds of Honor Foundation. Bella Vista Village will also sponsor a raffle to win a limited edition TaylorMade Driver, which features the Patriot Golf Day logo. Raffle tickets will be $ 5 each and go on sale Monday, Aug. 18, at the Kingsdale Golf Shop. The winner will be announced Sept. 2.
